Aron Carlson, LCSW-C

Aron is a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C, LICSW) licensed in both DC and Maryland who is happy to work with Jonah Green and Associates as part of a family-based practice. He is a warm, thoughtful, supportive clinician with eighteen years of clinical experience. He provides individual, couples, and family psychotherapy to clients ages five and older with a range of presenting problems. Aron co-leads JGA’s Couple and Family Therapy Training through Role-Play program that trains therapists in the community in advanced couple and family therapy skills.

Work Experience

Aron has worked as a psychotherapist in various settings such as public elementary schools, a day treatment program for children and adolescents, a community health organization, a domestic violence agency serving survivors and perpetrators of abusive relationships, and private practice.

Treatment Approach

Mr. Carlson utilizes multiple treatment modalities, such as CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. He is keen to support clients’ positive relationships as they develop. His areas of expertise include parent-child relationships, couples therapy, family therapy, communication skills, treating trauma, co-parenting, filial therapy, play therapy, and mindfulness.

Education

Mr. Carlson has received ongoing training from notable mental health professionals, such as Dr. Noel Larson, Dr. David Schnarch, and Dr. Dennis Dailey. He holds bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and theater and a master’s in clinical social work from the University of Kansas. Additionally, he is a Maryland board-approved supervisor.
