Lydia Sander is a clinical social work intern at Jonah Green and Associates, pursuing her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. In her previous placement, she counseled teens and their families at a high school in Washington, DC.
Treatment Approach
Lydia is committed to creating a non-judgmental and empathetic atmosphere that invites clients to explore their inner world and experiences. She uses a client-centered, affirming approach that honors clients’ inherent strengths, wisdom, and capacity for growth. She draws from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing. Lydia is receiving extensive supervision and is prepared to work with couples and families, as well as with children of all ages and adults.
Education
Lydia Sander earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Vermont. Her professional experience includes roles as a paraeducator, dance instructor, and early childhood assistant teacher.
