Lucy Kaminska-Silver, LCSW-C

Lucy Kaminska-Silver is a Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C) with over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. As a psychotherapist, she provides support in addressing self-esteem and interpersonal issues, anxiety, depression, neurodevelopmental difficulties, parental challenges and life transitions. She believes that each client can improve their adaptive behaviors by developing and consistently implementing more effective coping strategies.

Treatment Approach

Lucy supports her clients through a person-centered and strength-based approach. She utilizes interventions tailored to individual needs and realistic treatment goals. Her experience is supported by extensive training in evidence-based treatment modalities and approaches. She offers therapeutic interventions supported by Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems Theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions and Child-Centered Play Therapy.

Education

Lucy received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work in 2002. She also holds an advanced degree in early childhood development and education from the University of Warsaw, Poland.

Lucy is a native speaker of Polish. She offers therapy in English and Polish.
