Erin Ker

Erin Ker is a Social Work intern at Jonah Green and Associates. She has worked in schools serving children ages 5 through 17 in general education and special education settings and loves helping kids and young adults build communication and problem-solving skills. Other interests include anxiety and mood disorders, couples therapy, attachment-based family therapy, mindfulness and emotional regulation, and supporting families who are managing acute or chronic illness.

Treatment Approach

Erin uses a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach. She draws on principles from schema and psychodynamic theories to support individual growth as well as family healing and resilience. A lifelong learner, Erin encourages reflection, collaboration, and feedback.

Education

Erin has a background in teaching and education research. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles and earned a Master of Arts degree from Columbia’s Teachers College. She has taught high school social studies, conducted research on equity in schools, and served as a social work intern in an MCPS elementary school program for children with emotional disabilities. Erin is now in her advanced year at the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s Master of Social Work program. While participating in this program, she provides services under the clinical supervision of Jonah Green, LCSW-C.
