Chris is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT) who joined Jonah Green and Associates in the summer of 2021. He provides couple, family, and individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Chris provided therapy for two years at the University of Maryland Center for Healthy Families, working with individuals and families struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, behavioral challenges, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and other mental health and relationship challenges. Committed to cultural humility and respect for persons of all backgrounds, Chris has experience working with individuals from young childhood through adulthood from diverse cultures, religions, ethnicities, and genders. He is an ally of sexual and gender minorities, and works with LGBTQ+ individuals and couples.
Treatment Approach
Chris is a calm and thoughtful clinician who strives to empower clients by building on past strengths and creating new experiences in the therapy room. He values collaboration in the therapy process, and works together with individuals, couples and families to generate healing and growth. Chris uses a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, narrative therapy, and attachment-based approaches to promote insight, foster communication among family members, and create positive change.
Education
Chris received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds a master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland at College Park.
