Neysi is a Master’s level Social Work Intern. Currently, Neysi is pursuing a Master’s in Social Work with a clinical concentration and behavioral health specialization at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She earned a B.S. in Health Education and Promotion, with a concentration in Community Health, and a minor in Spanish from Towson University.
Neysi had the opportunity to intern at the National Alliance on Mental Illness where she acquired community outreach and mental health advocacy experience. She co-facilitated the relaunch of NAMI’s awareness and education programs to support Spanish speaking families. As part of her graduate training, Neysi completed a clinical internship at EveryMind. During that time, she co-led community education workshop and provided case management services for vulnerable and underserved communities. Neysi is inspired by the beauty of authentic human connection and amazed at the ability of humans to heal against all odds.
Neysi takes a highly collaborative approach with clients. Her approach is rooted in a trauma and person-centered framework. Neysi’s core theoretical orientations are informed by approaching problems systemically and relationally, highlighting client’s strengths, and using an integrative framework based on client’s needs. She is strongly committed to exploring new modalities and expanding her skillset to meet her clients’ needs.
She is a 200-hour certified Yoga instructor, with a special interest in trauma-informed yoga. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her pup, tending to plants, and baking vegan sweets.
